Which city has the most female entrepreneurs?
If you’re a female entrepreneur, you’re most likely to open your business in Chicago or Boston, according to the 2015 Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking.
The top three cities in the ranking are all in the US, a country where an estimated 47% of the workforce is female. However, even in the highest performing cities, the number of women setting up their own business is still considerably lower than the number of men. For example, in Chicago – the city that tops the list – only 30% of start-ups are founded by women. Boston and Silicon Valley follow in second and third place, with 29% and 24% respectively.
