Trade and Investment

The benefits of globalisation and international trade are widely recognised by Chinese citiizens, according to a poll from Gallup. The majority of nearly 5000 respondents thought the greater availability of products and goods from different parts of the world was a good thing for their country, nearly three-quarters believe increased trade mostly helps, rather than hurts, domestic companies, two-thirds say it mostly helps Chinese workers, and more than six in 10 agree that foreign companies building factories in China are mostly helping the nation’s economy overall.
