China

The University of Hong Kong is the best university in China, according to the Times Higher Education rankings. Peking University, alma mater of Premier Li Keqiang, is ranked second, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology comes third. All three make it into the top 50 in the world rankings, which measure universities on a range of factors, including their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

China has five of the top 10 universities in Asia and also scores well in the rankings for the most innovative universities in the world.
