African Circular Economy Alliance Annual Meeting
This session forms part of the Annual Meeting of the African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA). Panellists will announce and discuss a new Alliance report on the Five Big Bets for the Circular Economy in Africa. The report explores major opportunities for the continent on food systems, packaging, the built environment, electronics, and fashion and textiles.
Launched in 2017, the mission of the ACEA is to spur Africa’s transition to a circular economy that delivers economic growth, jobs and positive environmental outcomes. The Alliance seeks to achieve this through (i) policy development, (ii) leadership and advocacy, and (iii) support in scaling up circular economy businesses. It is chaired by the ministers of environment of Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa.
