Anu Madgavkar

Partner, McKinsey & Company

Anu Madgavkar is a partner of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey’s business and economics research arm, where she leads MGI’s global research on labour markets and inclusive growth. Anu’s recent work has focused on income and gender inequality, migration, the impact of disruptive technologies, and opportunities for inclusive growth. She is an active thought partner to business and government leaders around the world. She has spoken at multiple global forums, including the United Nations High Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, the Clinton Global Initiative, the UN ECOSOC Council, the Global Parliament of Mayors, the International Organisation for Migration, the UN Global Migration Group, Conference Board’s Asia Pacific Council. She is a frequent contributor to efforts of government and multilateral stakeholders including the World Bank and IFC, the IMF, DFID, NITI Aayog and ministries. Currently Anu serves on the National Economic Council of the Confederation of Industry in India.
Previously in her career at McKinsey, Anu co-led the Financial Institutions practice in Asia, where she served clients on strategy and growth in wealth management, wholesale banking and capital markets. She holds a degree in economics and statistics, from St. Xavier’s College, University of Bombay, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
