Bachelor’s in Economics, Carlos III University in Madrid; MA in International Relations, Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC; MA in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe. CFA Charterholder. With International Finance Corporation (IFC) since 2001: has been responsible for managing investments, primarily in the financial sector, from Washington, Istanbul, Johannesburg, and Bogota; was part of the team that developed IFC's Asset Management Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IFC which manages over $6 billion of capital across six investment funds; former Global Director, Financial Institutions Group, overseeing IFC’s strategy, investments and portfolio of all operations in financial markets around the world; then Regional Manager for the Andean region, overseeing IFC operations in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela; currently, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Since January 2018, Chief Executive Officer, IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the IDB Group, a purpose-driven platform that mobilizes capital, knowledge and connections to promote innovation for inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean.
