Former President and CEO of World Childhood Foundation USA. On the End Violence Against Children Global Partnership Board, supporting the Broadband Commission’s Digital Learning Working group and serving on the Interim Advisory Board to the GIGA initiative, an ambitious undertaking to connect all the schools in the world, a new “GAVI” for education. Member of the UNICRI‘s new Advisory Board and on the Leadership Council of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Network. Board member of the Early Childhood and Peace Building Consortium (housed at Yale University and UNICEF). An academic and expert in global health and sustainable development; has over a decade of experience in leadership roles at Columbia University and at the United Nations helping develop several global initiatives in health and education with private sector engagement and participated in the development of the 2030 Agenda. Childhood USA is advocating for ending child sexual abuse and exploitation by convening annual high-level meetings at the United Nations, developing tools for prevention and by funding innovative programmes. Was instrumental in the development and launch of a new index by The Economist Intelligence Unit mapping 60 countries' responses to child sexual violence. As a Commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, co-chaired the Commission’s Working Group on Child Online Safety, launching in 2019 at the United Nations a report with actionable recommendations for a safer Internet for children. Serves on numerous boards including: End Violence Against Children, Leadership Council of the SDSN and the ECPC Consortium. DDS with a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
