Why we need to follow the soft energy path of greater efficiency
Pursuing energy efficiency alongside clean energy is critical to doubling the pace of progress and help deliver global climate goals safely and affordably.
Dr. Jon Creyts is the CEO of Rocky Mountain Institute, or RMI. He is an internationally recognized leader on global energy issues and climate change. Since joining the organization in 2012, he has managed the strategy and execution of RMI’s global activities in multiple senior positions, becoming CEO in 2022. Among his contributions, Dr. Creyts worked with senior leaders on China’s energy transition and helped establish RMI’s China Program in Beijing, conceived and built RMI’s breakthrough climate technology accelerator Third Derivative, stewarded RMI’s Business Renewables Center to spin out as the Clean Energy Buyers Association, and helped build and spin out Energy Web.
