Max Harris

Global Shaper, Oxford Hub

I have a background in law: I completed a BA/LLB(Hons.) degree at the University of Auckland, and clerked for 18 months Chief Justice Elias at the New Zealand Supreme Court. I also am admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and have a BCL (Dist.) degree from the University of Oxford. I am interested in prison reform and public interest litigation - I helped to set up the criminal justice advocacy group JustSpeak and the public interest law group Law For Change in New Zealand. But I am now pursuing my passion for policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford, where I am studying on a Rhodes Scholarship. I'm especially keen on big ideas in progressive politics, climate change action, and social policy. I also enjoy facilitation, writing, cricket and football, and improv!
