Philip R. Lane

Whately Professor of Political Economy, Trinity College

Philip Lane is Whately Professor of Political Economy at Trinity College Dublin. He is also a CEPR Research Fellow, a managing editor of Economic Policy and a member of the Royal Irish Academy. He holds a PhD from Harvard University and was previously Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University. His research interests include financial globalisation, macroeconomic policy and European monetary integration. He was the inaugural winner of the German Bernacer Prize in 2001 and was a co-recipient of the Bhagwati Prize from the Journal of International Economics in 2010. He has consulted for a wide range of international organisations and national central banks and finance ministries. He is the founder of The Irish Economy blog.
