Ricardo Roa Barragán

Ricardo Roa Barragán is Chief Executive Officer of Ecopetrol, the largest company in Colombia and one of the leading integrated energy groups on the American continent. He is a mechanical engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a specialist in engineering management, with more than 30 years of experience.

Leader in strategic transformations in companies of the energy sector in Colombia, Perú, Guatamela and Honduras, Mr Roa Barragán has held prominent positions such as CEO of Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB), Transportadora de Gas Internacional (TGI) and General Management of Empresa Energía de Honduras (EEH).

At Ecopetrol, his main priority is to lead a just and equitable energy transition, preserving the value of the hydrocarbon business, and accelerating new low emissions energy businesses.
