Big data should be driven by business needs, not technology
Big data analytics can deliver massive value, but too often companies let technology guide their efforts. Instead, decisions must be based on business priorities.
Shilpa Aggarwal is an associate principal in McKinsey’s Singapore office and a member of the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology Practice in Asia. Shilpa has served leading clients in strategic planning and overall performance improvement through new business opportunity identification, product strategy, operations improvement, LTE and Wi-Fi strategy, sales and distribution strategy, and organization redesign. Shilpa has also worked with selected public and private sector clients across Southeast Asia to develop their mobile strategy, including helping to identify new digital opportunity areas, such as smart city and the Internet of Things.
