Europe's competitiveness is under threat - unless it tackles these obstacles to prosperity
Europe is pushing the competitiveness frontier in multiple ways, but strong headwinds could yet blow the region off course.
Silja is a PhD economist and Head of Mission, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Centre for the New Economy and Society at the World Economic Forum with in-depth expertise in the economics of digitalization, competitiveness, inclusion and international trade. She is passionate about working towards more inclusive and sustainable economic progress, building on her 20 years of experience across international organizations, the private sector as well as policy and academic research. Silja holds a DPhil and MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford; a DEA in International Economics from the Graduate Institute, Geneva and a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
