Sreekanth Janardhanan

Research Scientist for the Groundwater Hydrology Research Program, CSIRO Land and Water

Dr Janardhanan is a Research Scientist in CSIRO Land and Water's Groundwater Hydrology Research Program.
He is currently working on high performance groundwater modelling project for the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA), developing regional and local scale models for assessing the impact of re-injecting large volumes of coal seam gas produce water into aquifers in the Surat-Bowen basins in Queensland and the Bioregional Assessment project.
Prior to joining CSIRO in 2012, Dr Janardhanan's research focussed on solving groundwater management problems by integrating numerical groundwater modelling with mathematical optimisation.
Dr Janardhanan trained as a water resources engineer and developed computationally efficient methodologies for solving complex groundwater management problems.
Currently he develops regional groundwater flow models for coal seam gas impact risk assessments in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland.
