Stephan Mergenthaler

Head of Strategic Intelligence; Member of the Executive Committee, World Economic Forum

Stephan Mergenthaler is Head of Strategic Intelligence and Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum. He oversees the Forum's strategic analysis on global trends (intelligence.weforum.org) and leads its digital innovation strategies to scale and amplify its multi-stakeholder initiatives. In this capacity, he works with leaders from business, government, and civil society to promote future preparedness and drive organizational transformation. He initiated the Forum’s Global Foresight Network and co-leads the Forum’s GovTech initiative. Prior to joining the Forum, he was a Research Associate at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, and worked at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. He holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics, an MA from Sciences Po Paris as well as a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University Berlin.
