Expert Network

In a global environment marked by accelerating complexity, polarization, and short-term and siloed thinking, there is a need for interdisciplinary approaches and longer-term perspectives to create a sustainable and equitable future.

The Expert Network has been developed as a community to foster systems leadership and collaboration. It is designed to promote innovative thinking about the future, challenge conventional wisdom, and develop new ideas and projects.

The World Economic Forum’s Expert Network brings together close to 3,000 leading experts from academia, business, government, international organizations, civil society, the arts, and the media committed to improving the state of the world by helping to shape the global agenda. The network focuses on digital contribution and collaboration covering key global transformations. Experts are encouraged to share their own research and analysis, organize around specific discussions or initiatives, and engage with existing Forum projects, events and research.

Expert Network membership is reviewed on a rolling basis without a definitive term limit. We encourage our members log in to our collaboration and knowledge platforms and contribute regularly to maintain their membership status.

What benefits do I get as an Expert Network member?

Grouped around 250+ insight areas covering key economies, industries and global issues, members of the Expert Network can access TopLink, the Forum’s digital interaction platform, to contribute their expertise and thought leadership on some of the most important and globally relevant challenges and opportunities. Expert Network members can share their ideas and projects with other members of the community and organise around common-interest areas.

Members of the Expert Network receive premium access to the World Economic Forum's Strategic Intelligence platform, including advanced features of the Transformation Maps. The World Economic Forum may reward contributors with additional benefits such as invitations to participate in Forum events and briefings.

The Strategic Intelligence platform often selects relevant experts from the network to become part of its Co-Curator Community. The curators of Strategic Intelligence are leading experts who establish a systemic framework for the most emerging key issues around topics in the form of Transformation Maps – to shape the global agenda.

Expert Network members may be invited to participate in webinars and podcasts, contribute to blogs for publication on Agenda, the Forum's main blog platform which receives more than 6 million unique visitors a month. Members are also considered for the Forum's Global Future Councils, and contribute often to various white papers and insight reports.

Members are selected for these opportunities based on their engagement in the community.
