The world stands at the precipice of a crisis in cyber resilience. Consider the Colonial Pipeline attack in 2021 that paralysed the gas supply on the East Coast of the US causing huge economic and society-wide disruptions. In a fragmenting world, such incidents are no longer isolated or unique. This is evidenced in the World Economic Forum's Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2022 report, where infrastructure breakdown due to a cyberattack emerged as the number one concern for cyber leaders, substantially ahead of previous concerns like identity theft. These already-significant risks have been further exacerbated during the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
To effectively address the changing cybersecurity landscape, organizations need to focus on building cyber resilience. Making this necessary strategic change requires leadership and effective cooperation. Therefore, cyber leaders must reinforce the importance of cybersecurity as a strategic imperative across organizations in the public and private sectors and work with executives at the highest levels to achieve cyber resilience.
The Annual Meeting on Cybersecurity 2022 will bring together over 150 of the world's foremost cybersecurity leaders and experts from global businesses, governments, international organizations, civil society and academia to make cyberspace safer and more resilient.
The programme will feature interactive dialogues, hands-on workshops and in-depth discussions designed to enable insight-sharing, foster debate and spur action.
