A community of new leaders committed to transform the industry and get young generations excited about its future frontiers

There is a need for a new paradigm of leadership among industrials against a similar set of challenges: an aging workforce, rapidly evolving technologies and skills needs, pressure for greater focus on sustainability and purpose, gender diversity, reputation challenges, unpredictable operating environments, and a rifle misperception of industry amongst others. Ensuring the resilience of these industries and enhancing their contributions to society will require revisiting many well-established paradigms and strong decision-making. This calls for new leaders committed to transform the industry and get young generations excited about its future frontiers.

These challenges cannot be approached only through siloed solutions. In order to transition to new ways of working and have an effective talent strategy, cross-industry collaboration is needed to build a new-generation leadership community and create a compelling value proposition for future talent.

To address these challenges, the World Economic Forum has launched a new community of rising industry leaders. They display a commitment to the advancement of the industry, and to a career in manufacturing, heavy industries, and production systems that is rewarding, inspiring, and valuable to the global economy.

Currently, with more than 70 members across 12 industrial sectors, the community engages in the Forum's work and agenda to shape new ideas that transform and champion the industry to younger generations. They provide thought leadership and insights into the vital role of Millennials and Generation Z in digital transformation and take part in projects across six impact areas to advance the community’s mission.
