The Dangote Group is the largest conglomerate in West Africa. The group started as a trading company in 1978, before it diversified into local production of cement, sugar, salt, pasta and beverages and with new projects underway in the oil and gas sector. The group, which is one of the largest employers in Nigeria, is present in 16 African countries. The group is fully involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, which it executes through the Dangote Foundation.
