Farms to food markets: providing solutions and collective action for sustainable food systems
The Food Action Alliance is improving sustainable food systems, transforming the way food is produced, processed, consumed, and disposed.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized United Nations agency and an International Financial Institution that tackles hunger and poverty in rural communities. Founded in response to a global food crisis, since 1977, IFAD-supported projects have reached hundreds of millions of people around the world. Over the years, it is grown in scope and scale, but the mission has remained the same: invest in rural people and empower them to improve their food security, income and resilience.
COVID-19 has made the global population rely heavily on access to digital technology, leaving many agricultural workers without access to data and information.
These steps can prevent global food shortages during COVID-19 or the crises to come, says the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development President.
