Luminance

Luminance is the world’s most advanced artificial intelligence platform for legal contract review. The organisation was founded in September 2015 by machine learning experts from the University of Cambridge who are applying years of research and development into new applications for AI techniques. Leading mathematicians, computer vision experts and data security professionals developed the self-learning algorithm in order to read and understand documents and deliver faster, more accurate review. Subsequently, Luminance was further refined in collaboration with leading London law firm, Slaughter and May, so that the technology would fit seamlessly with the way lawyers naturally think and work.

In the year since taking the product to market, Luminance has been adopted by over 50 law firms across the globe. Initially focused on delivering contract review to law firms for M&A due diligence, Luminance has been used in over 200 transactions, with customers spanning five continents, including top tier firms in 16 countries. The company has dual headquarters in London and Chicago, with plans to open an office in Singapore in January 2018.
