Founded in 2021, newcleo is creating a disruptive new approach to extracting energy from nuclei that is safe, clean, renewable and technologically accessible. newcleo is building the next generation of nuclear energy: eliminating the need for geological repositories by using a fast neutron flux, avoiding the production of long-life radioactive elements such as plutonium; developing an accelerator-driven system based on the coupling of a particle accelerator and a sub-critical reactor; accelerating the development of new fuel cycles that provide economic, clean, safe and inexhaustible energy from nuclei and the opportunity to burn the long-lived nuclear waste produced by old nuclear reactors.
