This tech start-up in India is teaching people to care for family members with COVID-19
Indian start-up Noora Health is using tech to help family members gain the necessary skills to help care for loved-ones with COVID-19.
Around the world, health systems are short-staffed, healthcare workers are overburdened, and patients suffer from preventable, sometimes deadly, complications. Noora Health believes the solution has been present all along: the patient’s own family. Turning hospital hallways and waiting rooms into classrooms, Noora leverages a family member’s innate desire to care for someone they love by providing practical training and support. Noora Health began in partnership with government hospitals across 6 pilot sites in 1 Indian state in 2017. Seeing the impact, 6 total state governments and the Government of Bangladesh have now adopted this model for their settings.
