Incorporated in 1910 to manage 500 acres of rubber estates in Malacca, Malaysia, Sime Darby is one of Malaysia's biggest multinational corporations and a diversified multinational with businesses in plantations, industrial equipment, motors, property, and energy and utilities, with operations in 26 countries and four territories. It has a market capitalization of MYR46.81 billion ($10.61 billion) as of 30 September 2015. Sime Darby recognizes the importance of balancing economic performance with social responsibility. It restructured in 2017 to create three independent pure play companies to be listed in the Malaysian Bursa Securities: Sime Darby, Sime Darby Plantation and Sime Darby Property.
