Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) is the holding company for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing, SMBC Nikko Securities, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Japan Research Institute, and others. SMFG is one of three mega-bank groups in Japan, with consolidated total assets amounting to ¥183 trillion as of March 2015. The group offers securities, credit cards, leasing and consumer finance services. SMFG has more than 68,000 employees worldwide and owns subsidiaries in many countries and regions.
