Alexander Betts

Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs, University of Oxford

Alexander Betts is Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs and the University's Local and Global Engagement Officer, at the University of Oxford. He was previously Director of the Refugee Studies Centre and his research focuses on the politics and economics of refugees protection. He is author of numerous books, including 'The Wealth of Refugees: How Displaced People Can Build Economies' (Oxford University Press). He has previously worked for UNHCR, and served as an advisor to a range of humanitarian organisations. He is a former WEF YGL, was named in Foreign Policy magazine's list of top 100 global thinkers, and has given TED talks viewed by 5 million people.
