Alexis J Taylor is a recognized global leader in people and sustainability, with a specialized focus on inequality and economic mobility, human capital, and corporate governance.
She drives corporate strategy at Indeed.com, preparing the business for emerging ESG risks and opportunities, including adapting to new sustainability standards and regulations like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Alexis is also an active member of the Business for Social Responsibility’s Future of Reporting initiative, which monitors the evolving sustainability landscape.
Most recently, the Aspen Institute selected her as an inaugural Economic Mobility Fellow for her strategic initiatives focused on shortening the job search duration for 350 million job seekers on Indeed’s platform. She is now pursuing a portfolio of projects dedicated to connecting job seekers, especially those trapped in cycles of low-wage work, to stable jobs with mobility.
Before her corporate sustainability and intrapreneurship work, she spent 12 years in the civil society sector, improving business and creating fairer economies. During this time, she regularly advised governments, foundations, and universities on social impact initiatives. She co-founded a new division of a business ethics organization, scaled entrepreneurship initiatives as the CEO of an international nonprofit, and co-founded the Davos Lab, an initiative that built the world’s first grassroots youth-led post-pandemic recovery plan to end intergenerational injustice. She also served as a Commissioner for Sustainability and Economic Prosperity with the City of Austin, the city she calls home.
Her work has been recognized by the Mayor of Austin, the U.S. State Department, and international organizations for building bridges to shared prosperity across 30+ countries, equipping 16,000 young people with skills of the future, and engaging over 2 million people across 180 countries to propose post-pandemic, future-proofed policy recommendations.
Alexis was born and raised in the heartland of the United States, Independence, Missouri. Nothing brings her more joy and energy than connecting with people, hearing their stories, and together shaping what could be – from Chengdu to Lilongwe or Baghdad to Melbourne.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from Creighton University's Heider College of Business and graduated from The Wharton School’s Executive Program in ESG Strategy.
Alexis frequently shares her passions by speaking on topics including “The Evolving Sustainability Landscape,” “The Future of Capitalism,” “Reimagining Society,” “Navigating Uncertainty,” and “Systems Thinking for Tangible Change.”
