Alicia Asín is the co-founder and CEO of Libelium, a company that develops smart solutions to improve citizens' quality of life and foster a transparent, datacratized society. She holds a Master's in Systems Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Zaragoza and has completed business programs at ESADE and IESE.
Alicia frequently speaks at international IoT, digital rights, and privacy forums, including the Audi Summit, IoT Solutions World Congress, and Singularity Summit. She collaborates with the World Economic Forum's Connected World Council and other foundations to promote ethical and inclusive technology use.
Alicia’s work focuses on how IoT can revolutionize smart cities, precision agriculture, and environmental monitoring. She was the first woman to receive Spain’s National Young Entrepreneurs Award (2014) and has been recognized by Marca España as "Spanish Woman with Talent." Other accolades include the Rey Jaime I Award (2017), second place in the EU Women Innovators Award (2018), and Forbes’ "Top 100 Most Creative People in Business" (2019).
In 2024, she received the National Award for Computer Engineering in the 'Entrepreneur' category and published Take Control of Your Data (Toma el control de tus datos).
