Aneesh Madani

Head of Global Digital Partnerships and Social Media for the Olympics, International Olympic Committee (IOC)

I currently head global digital partnerships and social media for the International Olympic Committee based out of Lausanne in Switzerland.

I moved here after a five year stint at Twitter joining the company as part of their founding team in India and eventually heading their sports partnerships for the Asia Pacific region.

I truly believe in the power of sports and technology for progress in society. I experienced this first hand while living and traveling with a sports team for a full season early on in my career. This happened after winning a nationwide talent hunt to become the Chief Blogger for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Since then, I’ve been learning and building partnerships at the intersection of brands, media, technology and sports while leading multi-national teams across geographies.

I enjoy reading and can sit through anything love, humour, culture, sports and technology.

Tennis is my first love and I routinely hit one handed backhands into the net. It started by watching Roger Federer beat Pete Sampras at Wimbledon on TV and culminated with a Tweet-wish coming true to watch him live. A story for another day.
