Baria Daye

Baria Daye is an international development professional based in Washington, D.C. with more than 12 years of experience in multilateral cooperation; risk management, safeguards and sustainability standards; governance, accountability and data privacy. As a social development specialist at the World Bank, she focuses on enhancing grievance redress, accountability and responsiveness to stakeholder communities affected by development projects. Baria worked on private-sector development policies, regulatory governance and citizen engagement – charting the experience of citizens and firms worldwide in learning about new regulations and engaging with governments on their content – and contributed to developing the Global Indicators of Regulatory Governance. She also served as a gender policy advocate in Lebanon. Baria is one of the world's first ForHumanity Certified Auditors (FHCA) for AI, algorithmic and autonomous systems and their compliance with data protection and privacy laws. She is a member of the Advisory Council of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. She is also a recipient of various awards such as the World Bank Group Information Management Ambassador Award.
