Bernardo Silva was appointed as the Brazilian Bioinnovation Association - ABBI's first Executive President on January 2015. Prior to joining ABBI, Bernardo worked for the World Economic Forum in its headquarters in Cologny, Switzerland, overseeing corporate affairs and private sector engagement in South America. He also served in a variety of government affairs and advocacy roles within the Brazilian and US governments.
Bernardo is an economist, holdinjg a Masters in International Affairs from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
He is a member of the editorial board of the Industrial Biotechnology magazine and Current Biotechnology journal. He is member of the São Paulo State Industry Federation - FIESP's Bioindustry Committee. Bernardo was also the first Brazilian ever to be accepted as a Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum in 2011.
