Recipient of awards, including: Lifetime Achievement Award, Institute of Chartered Accountants, British Columbia (2004); Business Impact Award, Simon Fraser University (2005); Honorary Doctorate in Law (2005); Great Canadian Achievement Award (2008); Companion of the Order of the Business Hall of Fame, Canada (2011).Rix Award for Engaged Community Citizenship; (2012) Companion to the Canadian Business Hall of Fame; (2013) the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal; the Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year, Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, The T. Patrick Boyle Founders Award, of the Fraser Institute (2015) BC Hall of Fame Business Laureate. In 2016 he was conferred with an Honourary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of British Columbia. In 2018 he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs.
