Brian Gallagher

Joined United Way in 1981 as a management trainee and has been serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way Worldwide since 2009. Champions the importance of addressing financial stability, early childhood education, access to jobs and access to quality and affordable healthcare as the building blocks of life. At United Way, oversees 1,800 local United Ways in over 40 countries with 3 million members. Committed to the multistakeholder approach; Member of the World Economic Forum community, serving as Steward of Shaping the Future of the New Economy and Society and as the Steward of Shaping the Future of Education, Gender and Work. Additionally, served as Member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships; former Chair of the Independent Sector; serves on the boards of America’s Promise Alliance and Leadership 18. Member of the Board of Trustees of Ball State University.
