Chief Executive Officer, Pro Mujer

With over three decades of experience in the development sector, Carmen Correa has been serving as the CEO of Pro Mujer since 2022, driving the organization’s mission to create opportunities for women across Latin America. Previously, as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Carmen oversaw Pro Mujer’s transformative social impact programs, which encompass expanding financial inclusion, delivering essential health and well-being services, and empowering women through skill-building initiatives.

Carmen’s career reflects a deep commitment to innovation and impact. Before joining Pro Mujer, she led strategic initiatives as Director of Operations and Executive Director at Endeavor Uruguay, served as Director of Programs at Fundación Avina, and held pivotal roles at the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII) in Uruguay. Her international experience includes key positions at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C., and the Organization of American States (OAS) in Uruguay.

Carmen is an influential voice in the global impact space, serving on the 2X Collaborative Board of Directors, the EC-America Program Advisory Committee at Columbia University, and the Advisory Board of Socialab Uruguay. She is also a mentor for Endeavor Uruguay and a member of the Southern Cone Task Force of the Global Steering Group on Impact Investment. In 2023, Carmen was recognized by Google.org as one of seven "Leaders to Watch," highlighting her vision and leadership in driving social change.

Carmen holds a B.S. in Management from National Louis University and a Business Administration Certificate from Georgetown University. She has further honed her expertise through management programs at prestigious institutions, including Harvard Kennedy School, Johns Hopkins University, USDA in Washington, D.C., and ESADE/ORT in Uruguay. Her dedication to advancing gender equality and social impact continues to inspire and transform communities across Latin America.
