Daniel Shin

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, KingsBay Capital

Daniel M. Shin is a luxury executive, venture capitalist, and executive scholar. Daniel is a co-founder and managing partner of KingsBay Capital, a cross-border venture capital firm based in San Francisco and Seoul. In addition, Daniel oversees corporate development at MCM, a German luxury brand, that operates in 40+ counties with 600+ stores. Daniel is teaching entrepreneurship and venture capital at Korea University Business School on an adjunct basis. Daniel has served in various executive and non-executive board positions of private and public corporations as well as non-profit organizations. Daniel has published several books and regularly writes for newspapers for op-ed columns. Daniel is a frequent speaker and organizes both local and global forums, covering the subjects like tech entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability. Daniel was nominated as a Young Global Leader (YGL) in 2016 by the World Economic Forum. He was also honored to become Yale World Fellow under Yale's former president Richard Levin's leadership. Daniel is also a policy fellow at Cambridge University and Salzburg Global Seminar fellow where he contributes with his candid views for policy related matters on the future of tech entrepreneurship and social progression. Daniel received DBA from l'Université de Paris(IX)-Dauphine, Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), MSc from St. Hugh’s College, Oxford University and Stern School of Business, New York University, and BSc from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University at Bloomington. He completed post-graduate studies at Harvard (HBS, Kennedy), Oxford, Princeton, Stanford to name a few. Daniel resides in Seoul, Korea with his wife and two daughters.
