Dapo Akande is Professor of Public International Law, University of Oxford where he is also Co-Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on Human Rights for Future Generations Programme, & of the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict; and Yamani Fellow, St Peter’s College. He has held visiting professorships at Yale Law School, the University of Miami School of Law and Catolica Global Law School, Lisbon. He is a member of the boards of several journals, academic and professional organizations, including: the Editorial Boards of the American Journal of International Law and the European Journal of International Law. He has worked with states, non-governmental organizations, United Nations organs, the African Union Commission and the Commonwealth Secretariat on a wide range of international law issues.
