Eduardo Eguren

Group Chief Executive Officer, Burgan Bank

Mr. Eduardo Eguren was appointed as Burgan Bank’s Chief Executive Officer in September 2010, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in Corporate, Retail and Commercial Banking globally. Mr. Eguren is responsible for managing the bank’s overall performance, on a local as well as a regional front.

Prior to joining the bank, Mr. Eguren was CEO, Global Commercial Banking operations of Barclays Plc, London UK. In his role as the CEO, he built solid offshore operations that to date remain the blueprint for Barclays. Under his leadership, Barclay’s Call Centre in Gladbrook, UK won best service award in Europe and the business support area was regularly cited as example of good service during difficult times.

Mr. Eguren is a Board Member of Vita Group (Cancer Research organization with activities in various Latin American countries) and is on the Board of Trustees for Deutsche Schule of Montevideo, Uruguay.
