Emily Olson is the Chief of Staff to BP's Deputy Chief Executive.
Emily joined BP in 2009 as a member of the political team in Washington DC, managing natural gas advocacy, climate change, alternative energy and fuels. In 2010, Emily became Executive Assistant to Chairman and President of BP America and then to the Head of BP’s Upstream. Emily has spent the last five years as Vice President of the Southern Gas Corridor, responsible for the political and non-technical risks for BP’s major gas projects. In 2017, Emily expanded her role becoming the Chief of Staff to the Deputy CEO. In this role, her focus is on BP strategy and its implementation, specifically in the development and deployment of new low carbon energy business and emerging ventures. Emily spent over a decade in Washington DC working for the US Congress and trade associations focused on developing energy and transportation policy and legislative advocacy.
