Era Dabla-Norris

Era Dabla-Norris is an Assistant Director in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, where she leads the work on the IMF’s Flagship report, the Fiscal Monitor. Prior to this she was the Mission Chief to Vietnam and Division Chief in the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, where she led the work on fiscal, climate, and productivity and growth issues in the region. Since joining the IMF she has worked on a range of advanced, emerging market, and low-income countries and published widely on a variety of topics, including the economics and political economy of tax policy reforms, climate, growth, productivity, debt, trade, labor, inequality, and gender. She is the editor of the book, Debt and Entanglements. Her research has also been profiled regularly in leading global newspapers and magazines such as The Economist, Financial Times, Bloomberg, BBC, and CNN. Era Dabla-Norris earned a PhD in economics from the University of Texas and a MA in economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
