Degree in Political Science, Ankara University; MBA. Career diplomat. 1985, joined the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; has covered a wide range of topics, such as maritime and aviation matters, political affairs with European countries, regional/trans boundary waters and multilateral economic affairs, in particular the Black Sea Economic Cooperation; positions with the Turkish Embassy in Cairo, Turkish Embassy in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Turkish Consulate General in Münster, Germany; 2007-11, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Rotterdam; former Head, Department for Multilateral Economic Affairs. Currently, Deputy Director-General for Migration, Asylum and Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, involved in issues related to migration both at national and global levels, visa policies and asylum.
