Fabrizio Tassinari

Executive Director, School of Transnational Governance, European University Institute

Fabrizio Tassinari serves as the founding Executive Director of the School of Transnational Governance, where he develops the overall strategic direction, the design and the policy programme of the School.

Between 2009 and 2017, he served as Senior Researcher and Head of the Foreign Policy Studies unit at the Danish Institute for International Studies, the Danish government’s independent research institution. A recipient of an Alexander von Humboldt career award, Tassinari has also been a Visiting Professor at the Department of Social Science at Humboldt University in Berlin since 2012. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen and his research focuses on questions of democracy, governance and international security, in and around Europe. Tassinari is the author of Why Europe Fears its Neighbors (Praeger) and his writing regularly features in mainstream international media, as well as in peer-reviewed journals and volumes.
