Fatmah Baothman

Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence, King Abdulaziz University

Fatmah Baothman is CEO of alothaim investment AI and R&D. A woman of many achievements and a true pioneer in artificial intelligence—a member of the Global Future Council on the Future of Artificial Intelligence by the WEF. Baothman is the CEO of Alothaim Investment AI and R&D Company an associate professor in AI, her expertise as a national technology strategist, AI advisor, and AI Business Development & Innovation has been recognized internationally, and she has officially represented Saudi women in several events with several ministries, including the UN-CSW67, where she represented the Saudi NGOs sector of the kingdom. Baothman has received numerous awards for her work in tech/AI. She is the first woman in the Middle East with a doctorate in Modern Artificial Intelligence, which she obtained in 2003 from the School of Computing and Engineering in the UK. Her contributions to the field are numerous for ladies, including founding the computer science department, the Saudi Engineering Committee for Women, and the IEEE Chapter for Women. She has also supervised hundreds of students in scientific & AI business projects and has several quality AI publications and translated a book into Arabic coining several AI terms. Recently, she founded and became the board president of the AI Society, further advancing the field of AI. She is classified among the AI Arab experts by MIT Technology Review; Baothman is considered a true inspiration and a role model for aspiring AI professionals, especially women in the region.
