In 1997, spurred by the "Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" and the U.S. "Million Solar Roofs Initiative," Mr. Gao Jifan saw the immense potential and societal benefits of solar energy. Acting on this insight, he established Trina Solar, pioneering the photovoltaic industry in China. After a quarter-century of relentless dedication, Trina Solar has risen to become a global frontrunner in the solar sector.
Thanks to Trina Solar's industry leadership, coupled with Mr. Gao's substantial contributions and growing influence, he held the position of chairman for the China Photovoltaic Industry Association for two consecutive terms. He also co-chairs the Global Solar Council. Beyond these roles, he serves as the Executive Vice Chairman of the China Energy Storage Industry Innovation Alliance and Vice Chairman of the Council of the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association. and stands as a founding member of the Private Sector Advisory Board for the UNDP.
