PhD, Michigan State University. Formerly: various roles in education, agriculture and rural development sectors in Rwanda; with the Biosciences Eastern and Central Africa (BecA) Hub, a shared agriculture research and biosciences platform to increase access to affordable, World-class research facilities. Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources of the Republic of Rwanda; manages government policies for agriculture and livestock, sector modernization for food and nutrition security, and economic growth; also responsible for policy formulation, work with other ministries on cross-cutting issues that affect the agriculture sector, especially land use and management, trade, commerce, infrastructure, gender and youth employment. Recognized by the United States Agency for International Development's Board for International Food & Agriculture Development (BIFAD) for significant contributions to the breeding of the common bean for drought tolerance and disease resistance (2012); recipient, Norman Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program (Borlaug LEAP) Fellowship for key contributions to breeding of the common bean.
