With Tsinghua University: research interests in energy and environment, including acid deposition control, vehicle emission control and pollution control in urban and regional areas; recent focuses include global climate change wit contributions to policy making of acid rain control in China, and promoted programme of vehicle emission reduction; research on mechanisms and characteristics of combined pollution in urban atmosphere helped develop new standards and techniques for improvement of air quality in major cities. Recipient of several national awards including: First Prize, National Technological Invention Award; Second Prize, State Natural Science Award; Second Prize, National Technological Invention Award.
