Helge Lund was appointed Chief Executive of BG Group on 15 October 2014. He has over 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, joining BG Group from Statoil where he served as President & CEO for more than 10 years.

Prior to Statioil, Helge served as President & CEO of Aker Kvaerner and Deputy CEO & CFO in the pharmaceutical division of Hafslund Nycomed. He is a Business Economics graduate from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration of Insead, France.

Helge Lund was a non-executive director and member of the Audit Committee of Novo Nordisk and a non-executive director of Nokia. He has served as a member on the United Nations Secretary-General's Advisory Group on Sustainable Energy since 2011.
