Howard Frumkin, a physician and epidemiologist, heads the Our Planet, Our Health program at the Wellcome Trust in London. This program advances the field of Planetary Health, supporting research on human health aspects of climate change, cities, and food systems. He was previously Dean of the University of Washington School of Public Health in Seattle (2010-16) and Director of the National Center for Environmental Health and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta (2005-10). Author/editor of numerous scientific papers and books including Environmental Health: From Global to Local (3rd Edition 2016, Jossey-Bass) and Making Healthy Places: Designing and Building for Health, Well-being, and Sustainability (Island Press, 2011).
