I am a forest ecologist that explores the vulnerability and resilience of ecosystems to global change. I am interested on how changes in the abiotic conditions – and particularly extreme drought events and modified fire regimes – affect plant form and function, and how this aggregates to diversity and ecosystem functioning. I am particularly passionate about mountainous and tropical environments.
I am a Lecturer and Deputy Leader of the Ecosystems Program at the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), University of Oxford, and Junior Research Fellow at Oriel College. I am also a Visiting Associate Professor at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (Brazil).
