Ms. Ipeleng Selele, Chairperson Brand South Africa, is a qualified International Strategist and founder of RRS Trade and Investment Group, an integrated energy infrastructure entity. She has business interests in Cleaner Energy (Solar, LPG, LNG, and Green Hydrogen Applications), Electricity Transmission, Maritime/Ports Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics (Rail, Road, and Shipping), and ICT.
She has worked on projects in South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Mozambique, DRC, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Ghana, Rwanda, Nigeria, Angola, Singapore, Europe, and the UK.
Ms. Selele holds an MSc (Master of Science) in International Strategy majoring in Foreign Market Entry Strategy from the University of London South Bank. She completed an African Leadership Executive Course from Oxford University as part of her TUTU Fellowship as well as a Strategy Execution Qualification from INSEAD, France.
She is the Vice President of the African Women in Maritime (WIMA) and Chairperson of Women in Maritime South Africa. She currently sits on the Telkom Board listed at the JSE and serves as chairperson of the Brand South Africa Board. until recently, she sat on the Siemens Energy Board listed in Frankfurt, Germany, and the Mahlako Energy Fund Board.
Ms. Selele was instrumental in developing Sasol's Green Hydrogen Market Entry Strategy in Namibia. Her strategic vision leveraged Namibia’s renewable energy potential, positioning Sasol as a leader in green hydrogen. Through market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships, she ensured a successful and sustainable market entry. Her efforts advanced both Sasol’s green hydrogen initiatives and Namibia’s renewable energy goals, promoting economic growth and environmental stewardship.
Additionally, Ms. Selele has been deeply involved in LPG distribution, recognizing LPG as a social product that promotes clean cooking and heating. Her work in this area has been vital in improving access to clean energy solutions, enhancing the quality of life in the Richards Bay, Mossel Bay and Vaal communities, and supporting environmental sustainability.
