Jason Lee is the Chief Operating Officer of the Algorand Foundation, an organisation dedicated to fulfilling the global promise of Algorand blockchain technology and providing an inclusive ecosystem for an equitable, borderless, digital economy. Under his leadership, the Algorand Foundation recently announced an ecosystem partnership with Blockchain Association Singapore as well as the foundation’s expansion to Singapore.
Prior to his current role at the Algorand Foundation, Jason held a multitude of roles across multiple sectors in finance and technology. He has held various positions in the NEM Foundation as Vice President and Executive Committee, Board Secretary, Partnerships & Strategic Alliances and as Expansion Director since 2017. He was also a Board Director for Blockchain Australia, the country’s top blockchain industry body, and former advisory board member to the Australian nonprofit Blockchain Philanthropy Foundation. Recognised as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list-maker, he was also a FinTech startup co-founder, ecosystem builder and Wealth Management executive with Standard Chartered Bank, working with partners across more than 30 cities throughout his career.
Jason holds a Master of International Business and a Bachelor of Laws and has completed the Cambridge Judge Business School executive programs on strategy, innovation and creating high-performance teams. As a strong believer in social good, he regularly volunteers with non-profit organisations and leadership empowerment programs. Jason also strongly believes in nurturing the younger generation, and spends his time as a guest lecturer at various universities on topics related to financial technology, blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
When Jason is not catching up with the latest breakthroughs in tech and life hacks, he enjoys trying out new cuisines and forming meaningful connections with people with unique perspectives and big ideas.
